Ray Han
Overview
Ray Han was born in 1995 in Hualien, Taiwan. His profound passion for art stems from a combination of aesthetic education during his academic years and an innate drive. Specializing in geometric abstraction of individual objects, the artist skillfully blends different mediums with a simple yet playful touch. He infuses his works with a rich vitality by employing hazy colors and rustic lines, creating an intriguing and subtly mysterious atmosphere. The texture resembling skin and the speckled imprint effects in the background of his works inevitably evoke thoughts of primitive cave paintings or the totemic tones found on ancient pottery. Ray Han focuses on listening to his own voice, navigating the delicate balance between the rebellious extremes of contemporary art and tradition. Through his work, he endeavors to reveal the convergence and fluidity that exist at the extremes of the artistic spectrum, exploring the vast possibilities within.

The Allegory of the Cave: Ray Han Solo Exhibition Mar 2 - Apr 13, RIVER ART GALLERY is going to present Ray Han's first solo exhibition, "The Allegory of the Cave," unveiling the myriad stories accumulated by the artist through his life experiences and insights into the creative process. While endeavoring to dissect the self, the exhibition also engages in dialogue with the contemporary environment, fostering profound resonance. Bringing together the essence of Ray Han's work since its inception, the exhibition alludes to the responsibility borne by the artist through Plato's "Allegory of the Cave." Additionally, it explores discussions on environmental care, animal welfare, and hometown nostalgia, thereby igniting conversations on human consciousness and coexistence with other species.Read more
