Wei Zhao 趙唯

趙唯，1995年生於中國浙江，2017年畢業於中央美術學院，並於同年進入美國芝加哥藝術學院。作品曾於芝加哥、紐約、威尼斯雙年展以及上海等地展出。目前生活和創作於芝加哥。趙唯的作品旨在利用視覺圖像激發人們內心深處的情感，透過抽取和再現環境的碎片來探尋人們內心情緒的共鳴，經常藉由日常生活空間中的各種冷媒界，傾訴多年積累的建築空間的思考。並且用營造建築空間的方式，暗示當中的動態線索並勾起大眾的感知，透露了觀者心底對空間滿載記憶的思緒，讓畫面定格在最能共情的一刻，整體視覺風格安靜並富有餘韻。

 

Wei Zhao was born in 1995 in Zhejiang, China. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2017, and entered the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the same year. Her works have been exhibited in Chicago, New York, the Venice Biennale, Shanghai, and other places. She currently resides and works in Chicago. The purpose of Wei Zhao’s works is to use visual images to evoke emotions deep within people. She explores the resonance of inner emotions by extracting and representing fragments of the environment. Often utilizing various "cold mediums" in everyday living spaces, she expresses years of accumulated thoughts on architectural space. Through the creation of architectural spaces, she implies dynamic clues and arouses public perception, revealing the viewer's inner thoughts laden with memories about the space and freezing the images at the most empathetic moment. The overall visual style is tranquil and resonant, creating a rich aftertaste.
